Earlier this year
the legendary Brunello figure and former owner of the famous Cerabiona estate,
Diego Molinari, sadly passed away after a long battle with illness.
In 2015, after many years of speculation, Diego and
Nora Molinari sold the Estate, ending years of uncertainty about the
future. The new ownership team, headed by lead investor Gary Rieschel and
estate manager Matthew Fioretti is now in place and all Cerbaiona fans
(including myself) are desperate for the wines to maintain the extraordinary
quality level they have set over the past 4 decades. The 1990 still ranks
as one of the best wines I have ever tasted.
‘Cerbaiona. One word says it all. For the last four
decades, Diego and Nora Molinari have produced some of the most compelling
wines in Montalcino’
'Think of Cerbaiona as the Richebourg of Montalcino'
Antonio Galloni
The 2015 vintage in Montalcino was the best since 2010
and in time it may well equal or surpass that historic year.
Due to the timing of the sale of the property in 2015,
the new estate managers decided to label the entire 2015 vintage as 'Rosso di
Montalcino' as opposed to 'Brunello'.
This is a release we have been eagerly anticipating for the last 5 years and it is now finally with us. I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed a bottle this evening in Hong Kong and it was absolutely sublime! Although youthful, it had everything in place to develop into one of the very best examples of Sangiovese. Perfumed, structured, elegant and with the classic Cerbaiona class, it was basically a top level Brunello in everything but the name.
When you consider you can buy 6 bottles of the 2015 Rosso for considerably less than 1 bottle of the 2010 Brunello, it's an absolute no brainer!
Don't miss this chance to secure your stock at the best price in the market!
