The 1855 Classification of Bordeaux wines from the
left bank has remained virtually unchanged, with only one alteration to
the Second Growths - Mouton was promoted to a First Growth in 1973.
The remaining Second Growths are still regarded today as the most
important wines of the Médoc after the elite Firsts.
The wines are packed in a special bespoke wooden case,
designed exclusively for Grand Vin Wine Merchants. This
really is an unmissable opportunity to acquire some of the greatest wines
from this historic vintage... it would certainly make for a great dinner
party in 20 years from now!
Our advice would be to buy in multiples of 2 cases and perhaps
sell half in years to come, or track how they develop over the decades...
